Terrific Tuesday
Hello! Here's tonight's homework:
Other stuff--
Theme Baskets: These are the biggest hit and largest money-maker at our auction! PLEASE contribute anything if at all possible, big or small! This can be ANYTHING horse related! A book, movie, coloring book, puzzle, game, or anything that has a horse on it.....or it can be a decorative horse item (Derby, Kentucky.....etc), or it can even be an item a horse owner could use! ANYTHING!!!
Pen Pal Letters: We did receive our first letters from our pen pals in Nigeria this week! I haven't given them out to the students yet since ALL of them have not yet arrived. Next month, we will have a cultural literacy lesson by the International Book Project and we'll collect items for a cultural package to send to our partner school. For now, if your child is asking you for donations, it is to help with the shipping costs. Any contribution, whether a dollar or some loose change, is helpful since shipping anything overseas can be expensive.
- Reading: Log
- Spelling: Study words
- Math: worksheet...continuing long division...
- Square 1 Art orders due November 10th
- Bring HORSE item for basket (see newsletter OR below!)

Wonderful Wednesday
Today was report card day!!! I hope you were pleased with your child's progress and discussed this with him/her. If you have questions or concerns, and would like to schedule a conference with me, please call the school or email me to let me know. Overall, I have to say I was very pleased. Two things seem to be an area of weakness for many:
1. Math Computation (Multiplication!!!!...but also addition and subtraction....this needs to be constantly reviewed).
2. Accelerated Reader (AR)....this should have been an easy Reading grade. Students are required to read for 20 minutes each day and they just need to take the quizzes over what they're reading (and of course, do well on them in order to gain the points). I hope to see a lot of progress on this in the next grading period.
Once you have reviewed your child's report card, please sign it (so I know you have seen it) and return it.
Tonight's homework:
Math (for some but not all, depending on what was accomplished in class): Division worksheet
Reading: LOG
Spelling: Study words
Hope you're staying warm and dry tonight!

Tuesday Late Night....
Hi Parents! Sorry I haven't been here in a few days....but the good news is that there hasn't been much to post :)
First, tomorrow is the big day-- REPORT CARDS COME HOME!!!! This will be your child's FIRST report card of fourth grade, so try not to panic. Please go over this with your child, then sign and return it to school. If you would like to schedule a conference with me to discuss your child's progress, please let me know so we can set up a time. Overall, I was very pleased with the grades! It usually takes awhile for fourth graders to get the hang of responsibility...but I think we're off to a great start! Thanks to YOU for helping to make this possible. You make my job easier and I couldn't do it without you :)
Next, tonight's homework is:
Reading: LOG
Spelling: Finish and/or return the Spelling worksheet from yesterday (and study words, of course)
Social Studies: Finish labeling the Southeast States AND Capitals (this may have been finished in class today!)
Have a great night!

Marvelous Multiplication Monday
Hello!
First of all, please look for the Fourth Grade Follow Up in your child's yellow folder, which is full of information you might need to know! A few of the highlights and other things:
First of all, please look for the Fourth Grade Follow Up in your child's yellow folder, which is full of information you might need to know! A few of the highlights and other things:
- Multiplication Quiz tomorrow. This will count as 2 daily grades in math. A study guide came home today for practice.
- No reading quiz, spelling words, or DR quiz this week since there are only 3 days of school. Yahoo!
- Northeast States test on Wednesday over states, capitals, and other information about the Northeast. A study guide came home last week, and SS books were supposed to come home today.
- Reading Log is still homework (use it for reading about the Northeast!) :)
- There is a fossil crossword puzzle that is extra credit for Science. It is not due until Wednesday, and is optional...although based on the science tests of some, I think you might want to require it! Students are required to correct any missed questions, and any F's on the TEST require a parent signature. (The test is the one with the ORQ at the end--the Ecosystems Quiz was the shorter of the two.)

Wacky and Wonderful Wednesday
Well, day 2 of mad math multiplication went much better than day 1! Tonight's homework will be for a grade, so Mrs. Price asks that you please let your child do as much of it on their own as possible so that she can see who needs help, and who has the hang of it. Thanks!

Two-Digit Multiplication Tuesday...
A note from Mrs. Price on Math: Get ready, parents! Homework might be a bit challenging tonight. We are working on two-digit x two-digit "long" multiplication...and my oh my, have we had a rough time! Rest assured, we have done many practice problems in class...with that, I wish you good luck. I narrowed it down to odds only...and we're spending tomorrow on the same skill, if that helps?!?! :)
Homework is as follows:
