Marvelous Monday

Hi and Happy Monday!!! Only four more days until spring break--yippee! Tonight, there's almost more reminders/announcements than homework!
Things to know:
Yearbook order forms were sent home today. The cost per yearbook is $12. The form says that the money is due by April 6, however we take yearbook orders all year long so you can send it in anytime!
Spell-A-Thon money was due today, so please send that in as soon as possible.
Our second spring fundraiser (Pampered Chef) was sent home today and is due on April 9th (the first day we return from spring break). The class that raises the most money will earn a pajama party with popcorn and a movie! I hope it's us!!
Also, we are currently raising money for Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society. Any coins, dollars, or whatever is appreciated!!! A flyer came home about this today, too.
Finally, if you'd like to order spring pictures, please return the money and order form as soon as possible.

Tonight's homework:
Reading: LOG and read So You Want to be President? in the reading textbook
Spelling: Study words
Social Studies: A SHORT Government quiz on Thursday--please review pages 180-183 in the Social Studies textook....I will try to send a study guide home tomorrow.

Marvelous Monday

Hi! Report cards came home today!!! Be sure to look this over and discuss with your child. Please sign and return it as soon as possible. There's only one more grading period to go--so let's finish with a bang!!!
Also, the Spelling Tests from the Spell-A-Thon were returned today. Attached to it you will find a letter explaining what to do now. Remember that all pledges are due March 26th!

Spelling: Study new words!!
Language Arts- Metaphor worksheet (some may have finished in class today)

Monday

Hi! Just a reminder that this week's spelling words will be replaced with the Spell-A-Thon words sent home last week. Another copy of that list can be found on the back of today's newsletter as well. Remember that this is a GREAT fundraiser for our school and the school gets 100% of the profit!
Those forms are due THURSDAY of this week (March 15th).

Thursday

Hi! Ask your child about our guest speaker today---he was great! :) He talked to the students about sound and music....Mrs. Price LOVED him! LOL...
Tonight's homework:
Reading: LOG (a new one came home today for March!)
And.....ABC book about Loser (by Jerry Spinelli) is due Monday....we're almost finished with it!
Spelling: Study words--test tomorrow!
DR Quiz tomorrow--week 24!
Also, REVISED open response questions are due Monday also (from Friday's reading quiz). The good news---no reading quiz tomorrow! We've got to finish the book tomorrow hopefully!!!!

Also, I am looking at having the Social Studies test (over the West) next Friday, March 9th. The students will have to match the location of all 50 states on this one! Last one! They will need to match the capital cities to the 11 West states. Other than that, there may be a few vocabulary terms....but not much. I will send a study guide home early next week.
